北京 5.18 首签 Pass 【CS PHD】

5.17晚，搭乘“武昌--北京西”的列车，一觉醒来已是5.18号早上。 出北京西客站，前行5分钟右拐，地铁军博站搭地铁1号线，国贸站下车转10号线到亮马桥站。出来左拐再走若干个block到美国使馆。 pretty easy.

进入正题：

我: Nice to meet you sir!
VO: Nice to meet you, Sir! How are you?
我: Good.
VO: (看I-20)So you'll going for a doctorate in computer science?
我: Yes.
VO: Do you have a study plan?
我: Sure. (塞上CV、Study Plan、offer信、导师CV、Email打印件、GT成绩单 等一堆东西)
These are all the things you need.
VO: （观赏CV半分钟） So your undergrad major is Software Engineering?
我: Right.
VO: What about your research areas during PHD?
我: Also software engineering. Em....software engineering on embedded systems.
VO: Embedded systems? Can you explain what are embedded systems? Please be as specific as possible.
我: OK. It's basicly a small computer, on a tiny scale. You know,, systems on chips... Ahh...Your cellphone s is a kind of embedded systems. Err... what I actually do is to implement software engineering approaches on the basis of embedded system. First I have to know the hardware, then I should write good programs to run on it, and to ensure the software is robust, that means less errors.
VO: (敲电脑半分钟) Congratulations! Have a nice trip!
我: Am I approved?
VO: Sure. Absolutely!
我: Thank you so much! (拿条果断闪)

原路返回北京西站，上车回家。
