【求问枫叶国同学(Alberta)】怎么向老师提奖学金有点少？？

最近和University of Alberta ECE系的老师联系，谈得差不多了，然后问了一下奖学金的情况，老师是这么回复的：
Your graduate study will be supported, which is about $18,000 per year. It should be able to cover the basic need.
It is still in the process at the moment, so let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
请问一年$18000在加拿大阿尔伯塔省生活是不是有点少啊？我记得UA CS系的平均奖学金都有2.5W呀。而且老师的意思是不是，这个还在process，所以还有商量的余地？我算了一下，去掉学费和住宿一年就剩4000左右了。这种事怎么提比较好，谢谢大家出主意啦
