一个老师给了很正面的回复，但不知道怎么回复了，已经三天了

大家好！目前联系了一个老师，属于保底学校的，因为做的方向非常非常match，老师和我几乎都是一见钟情。都是通过邮件联系，当天套的时候就秒回了，说有ra，position。然后邮件来回了4-5次，没讨论学术问题，时间拖了2-3天。
目前这所学校还没申请 有点纠结要不要申。但是收到了这封邮件后 不知道该怎么回复了。。求指导？
If you do apply and you are the top candidate, I will certainly would like to talk with you before making the offer. I would rather make an offer to the second or third candidate whom I know for sure will come instead of the first candidate with a 50/50 chance of coming.
