华盛顿州立大学power方向的MS opening Fall 2019，提供全额奖学金（学费+工资，不是很多所谓offer只有个AD）。老师人很nice，对学生也很用心，跟着老师好好干的话可以发一些论文。目前的学生都有发表论文参加学术会议的经历，如果打算硕士毕业就工作的话本地就有很多电力公司和能源相关单位，当地的PGE, Peak Reliability, Pacificorp皆有机会参与实习，这些单位均给员工办理H1B和绿卡，不像很多其他地方的只招公民，因为毕业会有paper，比很多排名很好的传统电力强校的授课型硕士找工作还要好很多。远一些的西雅图GE旧金山PG&E 也有机会推荐。这里的学生一般都能本地就业，找工作不用太折腾。如果打算以后读PhD的话陈老师也有很多合作者可以推荐。此外陈老师还跟周围好几个国家实验室有合作，暑假可以和老师一起去访问实习。陈老师暑假一般都会去DOE旗下的国家实验室访问，去年就去了LLNL。

温哥华校区距西雅图2个半小时车程，火车3个小时，飞机40分钟。这边收入的话既享受华盛顿州无州个人所得税，去河对岸的波特兰购物又没有俄勒冈州的消费税，一来一去能省不少银子，所以这里被称为美国的“免税天堂”。这里的气候非常好，春天没有中部的龙卷风，夏天没有南部的酷暑，东部沿海的台风，冬天也没有东北部的暴雪。学校处于城郊，可以感受城市生活，不像在大学城生活枯燥。这里又是户外天堂，驱车1小时有雪山也有大海。

Several RA positions for Master degree are available for Fall 2019 in Dr. Zhi Chen’s power system research group at Washington State University at Vancouver, WA.
The prospected graduate students will join the power system research group. The power system research group at the Washington State University, Vancouver is a multidisciplinary research group working on advancing research in the field of power and energy systems including resilience of cyber-physical energy systems, integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage devices, and stochastic modeling of power systems operation and planning.
Washington State University is a top-tier (R1) national research university. WSU Vancouver is located 15 miles north of Portland, Oregon in United States. Portland is a sales tax free city with historic old town, galleries and museums, Saturday market, lush green parks, theatre companies, Chinese supermarkets and restaurants, Timberline Lodge for skiing whole year, hiking trails, and spectacular Oregon ocean beaches. The metro area of Portland is home to more than 1,200 technology companies, including Intel, IBM, HP, Sharp, Logitech, Lattice Semiconductor, Linear Technology, etc. In addition, utility companies like PacificCorp and Portland General Electric, and other companies related to power and energy provide numerous power career opportunities locally. -An earned B.S. in EE, ME, Physics or a closely related field
-Good programming skills (preferably MATLAB or C++)
-Team work skills
