McGill Information Study vs Music Technology

收到McGill两个offer。学校系统缘故，在3.10前必须做出选择且只能选择一个（另一个会自动withdraw）。求意见究竟该收哪个。欢迎补充其他你知道的信息。
已知对两个专业的兴趣差不多，无明显喜欢或不喜欢--由于Music Tech的老板有硬件项目，更喜欢Music Tech一点。有读PhD的计划，所以看重硕士期间paper发表情况，但PhD不是必选。最终目标是在业界做研发，因此如果硕士毕业就可以找到较好的研发工作，可以选择硕士读完直接就业。
当然如果硕士期间发现自己不适合科研，也会选择直接以硕士身份就业。
现在关注的主要问题：是否应该为了更喜欢且更对口一点，去选择一个非常细分的小领域？与此同时，这个小领域的就业情况是我了解不多正在努力寻找的。
希望对Music Tech有所了解的朋友们提供更多有关就业的信息！
具体两个选项如下：

A：Information Studies, Master of Information Studies (non-thesis, project-based).
Supervisor:

Human Computer Interaction/Accessibility/Design for Older Adults

Advantages:
a. Karyn每年有稳定的顶会产出 (1-2篇CHI full paper， 17年有UIST。18年她on sabbatical去了导致18年只有两篇CHI Workshop. 目前不知道19年的paper)。似乎在ACM SIGACCESS Conference on Computers and Accessibility上经常有论文，但不太确定这是什么级别的会，guide2research上找不到。
b. Information Studies可能比较好就业?
b-1. 选课表里有database, data mining之类的课程，对转码农友好(但是我数学不算好，对做码农无感，且不想往CV/ML方向转...)。
b-2. 有Practicum，三个学分的实习。按照描述看，像是co-op。
c. Karyn做health的，和感兴趣的多伦多aging gracefully lab对口(但是按照目前看到的论文，二者并无直接合作)。稳定的论文合作者主要在UBC/Maryland.
d. 需要做毕业project，但是不用写thesis，可能会好毕业一些？
e. 是正统的Information Study项目。如果决定以硕士身份就业不会因为专业被卡。
Disadvantages:
a. 目前没有已经毕业的PhD。无法判断学生出路如何。仅有的两个离开她的lab的人的去处：前Postdoc在Waterloo继续Postdoc；前M.Sc. Student创业去了，现在在TeachMe Education Limted。
b. MISt 项目就业似乎不是特别好。项目就业报告：mcgill.ca
很多人直接去当图书管理员...? 从事IT业的不算多啊。学院原文是“Graduates of the Master of Information Studies (MISt) program are equipped to work as information professionals in a variety of settings. The MISt program (formerly called Master of Library and Information Studies) is accredited by the American Library Association (ALA). Our graduates work in areas such as libraries, archives, knowledge management, information management, and records management, and also find work in areas such as information and communication technology, competitive intelligence, communications, management, research, and administration, among many others.”---并没有给出具体去处。
c. Citation只能说还可以，900多的引用在人机交互领域不算是差，但也并没有好到哪里去。
d. McGill的information study不是这所学校很出彩的专业...如果决定以硕士身份就业可能会因为不是target school被卡？

Advantages:
a. 实验室非常对口。实验室项目从信号处理到usability到haptics，都是我接触过的东西（本科专业就是信号处理；做过很长一段时间电子设计）。 且有硬件项目，非常非常对我口味。
b. 老板Citation好很多。据做computer music的学弟说，7k引用在Computer music领域屈指可数。7k即使在人机交互领域也是大牛级别了。
c. 项目毕业去处上限疑似比Information Study好？ 学院原文是“Graduates continue to PhD programs at European and American Universities, research and development positions in companies like Analog Devices, Ableton, Avid, Bombardier Aerospace, Ubisoft, Bang & Olufsen, SRS Labs, and commercial positions related to media technologies (e.g., gaming and audio industries)”。但是我没找到就业报告...
d. 要写thesis---含金量会不会高点？
e. 据说McGill的music school是world top 10...
Disadvantage:
a. 从此就进了一个比HCI小许多的细分领域。多少有点担心这个领域如同生化环材一样，坑太少不好就业。--这个存疑。有待了解的比较多的朋友补充详情。
b. 老板学术水平不是很好判断，因为我对音乐不太了解。论文常见于： NIME (据说一般？), ICMC(据说是次一等的顶会), SMC(次一等的顶会+1), Computer Music Journal, 另有零星 IEEE Trans on Multimedia, IEEE Sensors Journal 啥的。
c. 是Master of Arts...如果发现自己不适合学界而准备以硕士身份就业，会不会导致投CV时直接第一关就因为专业不符被pass?
