It is my pleasure to inform you that you are being offered a Graduate Assistantship for the 2019-2020 academic year from the Computer Science Department of The University of Texas at Dallas. The amount of your award will be $1,850/mth paid monthly from September 2019 through May 2020. Subject to maintaining an excellent academic record (maintaining a GPA of 3.6 or higher, passing the PhD Qualifying exam, etc.), the assistantship will renew automatically for 3 additional years. Thus, you have guaranteed support for four years. Initially, the support will be in the form of a teaching assistantship, but subsequently it may become a research assistantship. Additional summer support may be provided to you as well, subject to availability of funds. Your tuition expenses will be entirely covered as well. However, you may have to bear some expenses with respect to health insurance benefits, for example.
