Postdoc Position in Interdisciplinary Computational Engineering & Science

Requirements

• A Ph.D. degree in EE, ME/AERO, CS, Math, Physics or other related fields
• Evident expertise in finite difference and finite element methods
• Demonstrated experience in implementation of numerical algorithms in computer coding to solve 3D partial differential equations
• Interested in multi-disciplinary research
• Interested in refereed journal publications
  

Additional Qualifications

• Experience in some popular (commercial or open-source) simulation packages for heat conduction, electromagnetics/optics, and/or materials design (based on DFT)
• Experience in parallel computing
  

Job Descriptionfor the postdoc researcher

• Development of reduced order models for large-scale multiphysics simulations of structures involving heat conduction, electromagnetics, optics and/or quantum eigenvalue problems
• Working with graduate and undergraduate students in Department of Electrical &Computer Engineering, Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY, USA.
• Possible projects include simulation/design of electromagnetic bandgap structures and metamaterials, simulation/design of optics crystals, computational materials, thermal aware scheduling for GPUs/CPUs and thermal aware design exploration for GPUs/CPUs.
