AngelList实习问题：unpaid back pay?

Hello 好心点进来的小伙伴你好鸭，

我有一个小问题，在AngelList上找到了个Data Science internship的机会，做ecommerce的startup，base在NYC。
提及薪资，创始人给我的回复是“Note the position, is unpaid but has options for a salary/ equity, etc at the end of the internship.”
请问一般来说这是实习完成后会给back pay的意思吗？
