I regret to inform you that you will not be offered admission to the Cornell University's Ph.D. program for Fall 2013. With a combined total of nearly 550 applications to the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, we admitted only 16% of the applicant pool. While recognizing that we must deny many qualified applicants, the faculty endeavors to choose applicants they feel are the best match for our program. We wish you the best with whatever next year brings.
