- PhD positions are supported by research assistantships or teaching assistantships, which cover full tuition fees and monthly stipend of USD$2300 - $2500
- GMU CS has a diverse body of renowned faculty in all areas of computer science (e.g., AI, computer vision, database, systems, software engineering, machine learning, data mining, computer graphics, HCI, visualization, robotics, bioinformatics, theory, cybersecurity, networking, virtual reality, visualization, computer game design)
- Recent international PhD graduates from our department have received job offers from Google, Facebook and Amazon in USA, and have landed faculty positions in universities in USA and around the world.
- GMU is conveniently located in Northern Virginia (within 30 min to Washington DC)
Requirements
- A four-year baccalaureate degree. The difficulty of the baccalaureate degree and the applicant's work experience are considered while evaluating the application.
- The applicant's prior academic work must include a strong academic background in Computer Science at the graduate or undergraduate level.
- GREs. The General GRE is required.
- Two letters of recommendation. Letters that offer direct knowledge of your academic achievements and research skills or potential are most useful.
- A statement of career goals and aspirations
- TOEFL or IELTS is required of all applicants whose native language is not English, and who have not received a degree from a university in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
