U of Toronto 统计系PhD项目的面试邀请

如题，今天中午收到UofT统计系一位AP发来的邮件，部分内容如下：
I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and we are reviewing files for PhD admissions. Your application has stood out from a very competitive pool of applicants and you have been selected to be on our short-list of candidates to interview for a funded spot. In particular, I'm interested in having you join my research group to work on XXXXXXXXX.
I would like to arrange to speak with you over Skype as soon as possible. Could you send me some times that you are available this Wed-Thu (EST) and provide your Skype ID? Sorry for the short notice; things are a bit rushed towards the end of the semester. I look forward to speaking with you.
以前听说UofT统计系博士项目录取难度很大，所以收到面试邀请还是有点意外，也不知道这个“short-list of candidates”到底有多少人，所以不知道胜算怎么样 _(:з)∠)_
地里有朋友参加过UofT统计系的面试吗？大概会问什么问题？会不会问一些数学/概率/统计的问题考察申请者的基本功？还是侧重于了解申请者过去的研究经历？
另外统计phd项目一般是入学一年后通过QE后再定导师的，但这位AP的意思好像是邀请我进ta的组，相当于入学就定了导师吗？还是说之后其实可以选其他导师？
有点纠结要不要花点时间认真准备一下面试，想看看大家的意见，谢谢！
