求助，收到full time job offer，但不能如期毕业

统计学博士在读，原定今年5月毕业，但这学期开始老板要求研究项目继续做深，8月毕业不知他同意不，较大可能得今年12月毕业了。

现在收到Wells Fargo quant职位的offer（还没accept），start date是今年6月底，要求finishing all requirements for a PhD before 06/2020 with confirmation of the granting of the degree by 01/31/2021。

想accept了然后省下时间来继续做项目。

想跟HR negotiate a new start date（12月或明年1月），或请求delay the offer，这俩是一个意思哦？

这个职位包含a 12-month rotational program，不知如果等到12月加入，还能否rotate？还是索性推迟一年到明年6月？

想问下HR在遇到这样的情况时一般怎么处理？联系时有什么要注意的？
