Master和PhD双学位挂靠到community college的案例

去年1B抽签不中，现在stem opt刚用完，正处于最后的grace period中。请问如果我transfer到community college，读associate degree，可以申请cpt继续工作么？
我不太了解cpt的规定，总觉得去读一个更低的学位，似乎有哪里不对。。。谢谢
