One PhD position (Spring 2021) is available in Dr. Chao Jiang's group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wyoming. The successful candidate will be conducting research supported by NSF grant. The research focus of this position is in the area of robotic learning, multi-robot coordination and optimization. Prospective students are expected to develop multi-robot learning, planning and optimization algorithms with application to human-robot interaction/collaboration. The successful candidate will receive tuition scholarship and stipend support. Applicants shall have a master's degree in electrical or computer engineering or a related discipline. International students shall have TOEFL (or IELTS) before admission.

Bio:
Dr. Chao Jiang received the B.S. degree in measuring and control technology and instrument from Chongqing University, Chongqing, China, and the master's and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA. Before joining Stevens, he worked as a research assistant in the Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Technology and Systems (Chongqing University), Ministry of Education, China. He joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming in Fall 2019, where he is currently a tenure-track Assistant Professor. His current research interests include autonomous robots, human-robot interaction, robotic learning, deep reinforcement learning, and multi-robot systems. He is the recipient of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellowship (2012-2016), and the Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award in Electrical Engineering (2019) at Stevens Institute of Technology. He is a member of IEEE.
