OSU CSE PhD Positions in Data Mining

Dr. Ping Zhang is seeking multiple PhD students (full research assistantship support available) on data mining, machine learning, and health data science in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University. The student will have the opportunity to develop novel machine learning approaches for real-world biomedical and/or clinical problems. Dr. Zhang’s research and work experiences can be found at web.cse.ohio-state.edu .

Ideal candidates should be self-motivated and passionate about conducting original research. Students from related disciplines such as computer science, software engineering, informatics, statistics, mathematics, automation, and electrical engineering are strongly encouraged to apply. Extensive programming experience in either Python, R, MATLAB, Java, or C/C++ is required. Prior knowledge of and research experience in either data mining, machine learning, or biomedical informatics is required. Experience in publishing research articles in peer-reviewed technical conferences (such as KDD, ICDM, SDM, IJCAI, AAAI, AMIA, BIBM or similar) is highly preferred.
