Your Personal History Statement gives you an additional opportunity to add some individuality and depth to the information provided in your Statement of Purpose and Objectives. This statement should **not** be the same as your Statement of Purpose. Your Personal History Statement can include information about who you are as a person, your family background, cultural background, socioeconomic status, educational challenges, and experiences growing up. You can also use this essay to contextualize any of your other application materials. For example you may have had caregiving responsibilities that impacted your ability to engage in a course, or financial hardship that forced you to pick up multiple jobs, reducing your study time. It is intended to give you the opportunity to provide a narrative about your diverse lived-experiences.
