Administrative processing is just a fancy way of saying that the officer you interviewed with can do no more on your case. He has approved you for the visa but must check with Washington to make sure it is okay to issue it. This is most common in males 16-45 from certain countries. It doesn't mean you did anything wrong, or that anyone did, but possibly someone with a name close to yours [or something else] did something and they need to clear your name or something about you. It generally has nothing to do with the applicant but the US wants to protect itself from any problems no matter big or small. For the most part, especially students, the case comes back clear and everything is good to go. All you can do is wait patiently and check online. If it gets too close to the time when your I-20 tells you to enter the US I would say very politely call them back to check on the case. For the most part cases take 2 weeks to 90 days to return, though sometimes we saw turnarounds of 3 days. Hope it helps!
