GRE填空 泣血大求解，求大牛跟进！！！

我最近做填空的时候，发现了一个问题，我发现我已经了解了做填空的方法，但是老是由于句子本身理解不好而解不出题，比如：

2 A common argument claims that in folk art, the artist's subordination of technical mastery to intense feeling _____ the direct communication of emotion to the viewer.
(A) facilitates
(B) averts
(C) neutralize
(D) implies
(E) represses

我就不能一下看出来 subordination of A to B, 也就是把A放在B的次要位置，用A去辅助B，那我这个题就很难快速做出来，如果我知道了这个意思的话，那就可以分析出作者更注重intense feeling， 和后面的communication of emotion 是同义关系，选A就是很轻松的事，所以就之前那步卡住了。现在求助地里的大仙，神牛们帮帮出出主意，怎么才能战胜这一困难，难道只有不断地做题吗？
