先写出UMICH ME关于SOP和PS的定义：

Statement of Purpose (SOP): The Statement of Purpose should be a concise, well-written statement about an applicant’s academic and research background, career goals, and how this graduate program will help meet career and educational objectives.
Personal Statement (PS): The Personal Statement is an essay about how an applicant’s background and life experiences, including cultural, geographical, financial, and educational or other opportunities or challenges, motivated the decision to pursue a graduate degree at the University of Michigan.
UMICH ME是要求同时提交SOP和PS的。通过以上看来，我们是不是应该这么总结：SOP主要写学术以及教育背景，证明这人很学术；PS主要写生活背景，证明这人RP不错？
之前看了好多关于PS的讲解，上面似乎都提到要把PS多写学术内容。可是现在看来，似乎PS要尽量贴近生活才是，SOP才是主要写学术的。总不可能把SOP和PS都写成学术的吧，那样就重复了。

情况1 当某校要求同时提交SOP以及PS的时候，参照UMICH的定义来写
情况2 当某校只要求PS/SOP的时候，UMICH的定义不再有效，需要在PS/SOP中同时提到学术、个人经历、目标等内容（相当于情况1中SOP以及PS的混合版）
