大家好~我是RPI ECSE的一个博士生，我又来了，去年的时候发过一次这个帖子，因为我们组明年一个师兄要毕业(毕业比较快，所以感觉隔一段时间就有人毕业，
关于往届PhD的年数，可以去老板页面上看students那一页..会有发现唷O(∩_∩)O~)，
所以帮我老板在这里发一个招生贴，现在申请和陶瓷还是来的及的哈，

There are 1~2 RA openings (starting Fall'14) in Professor Tong Zhang'sresearch group ( ecse.rpi.edu ) of ECE atRensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), USA. With the focus oncircuits and systems for data storage and signal processing, hisresearch group is deeply inter-disciplinary and very well connected tohigh-tech industry. Since 2002, he has graduated 12 PhDs, all of whomgraduated within 4 years and are now working in leading-edge UScompanies (mostly in Silicon Valley). Expectations to potentialcandidates: Be serious and well motivated to pursue PhD; decent GPA onEE and math courses; familiar with C/C++ programming; experience ondata storage, OS and computer architecture, and FPGA are desirable butNOT required.Please be aware that RPI graduate school has set the following minimumgrades: GRE(V) - 156, GRE(Q) - 146, GRE (A) - 4.0, TOEFL/IELTS -89/6.5, of course it is possible to get waivers for well qualifiedcandidates.

按照惯例，加几句话，关于实验室的方向，总体而言，实验室搞的都是关于存储，如Nand Flash, SSD, 磁盘ECC，还有近两年刚兴起的PRAM等，细节可以参考老板页面上的PublicationList，发了很多Top级的Trans如TVLSI TMM等等以及存储领域顶级的会FAST之类，所以跟着老板混不用担心paper哦对了，老板现在已经是FullProfessor了，去年的时候还是Associate..
从大处讲，研究的课题都是很新的并且比较偏应用，所以很好拿funding(不用苦逼当TA)，更关键的是可以很好找工作啊！传说中的SiliconValley火到爆的Digital Verification在我们实验室可以得到很好的锻炼...往届师兄的工作都很好，也有不少去startup发财去了。。
再回答关于语言成绩的问题，去年就有不少同学问，minimum的线最好还是要达到的。。各位亲，表再问我AW要求4.0我3.5会不会秒拒的问题了，我真的不知道。。本身这就是一个综合考量的结果。。不过可以告诉大家的是我进来的时候托福<95, AW=3.5,但是没有秒拒..
关于背景的要求，上面老板也说了哈，大家可以仔细读读...
