Dr. Giancarlo Pellegrino at CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security (Germany) is looking for fully-funded Ph.D. students working on the following topics:
Reinforcement learning for security testing
Machine learning and web security

Giancarlo Pellegrino (trouge.net) is a faculty member at CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security. Before that, he was a visiting assistant professor at Stanford University and research group leader at CISPA as part of the CISPA-Stanford Center for Cybersecurity. His current areas of interest are automated web vulnerabilities detection and analysis. Giancarlo has published multiple papers at top venues in computer security, including IEEE Security and Privacy, ACM CCS, Usenix Security, and NDSS.

CISPA is one of the world-leading research centers on information security and privacy. It is constantly ranked the first worldwide. See, e.g., CSranking.org (csrankings.org). Located in Saarbruecken (Germany), CISPA is the newest member of the Helmholtz Association (helmholtz.de), the largest scientific organization in Germany, fully committed to scientific excellence and to tackling the grand challenges in their respective fields. The working language of CISPA is English and the knowledge of German is not required.

Requirements:
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Information Security, or Mathematics
- English proficiency (knowledge of German is not required)
- Excellent programming skills
- Proven background in machine learning or artificial intelligence
