Dr. Zhe Jiang will join the CISE department of the University of Florida in Fall 2021. There are multiple PhD Positions with full financial support in Jiang's lab, starting in Fall 2021 or Spring 2022. The lab also welcomes remote interns or visiting students.

Requirement:
1. Passionate in data mining, machine learning, and deep learning research, self-motivated
2. Strong Math/Statistics and C/C++/Python programming
3. Good communication skills (Oral, Written) and teamwork
4. Preferred: Research experience in machine learning or deep learning.

About Dr. Jiang's lab:

Dr. Jiang is currently an assistant professor at the University of Alabama since 2016. He will join the CISE department of the University of Florida in Fall 2021. The lab mission is to advance the foundation of AI, Data Mining, Machine Learning and to address grand societal challenges in Earth science, transportation, smart cities, biomedicine, public health through interdisciplinary collaborations. Dr. Jiang received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Minnesota (supervised by Dr. Shashi Shekhar, an IEEE and AAAS fellow). He received his B.E. from USTC 0606. The lab's research has been published in top conferences and journals such as ACM International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (SIGKDD), IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM), IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), etc. The lab received over $2 million of external grants over the last couple of years from both federal agencies (NSF, UCAR, USGS) and industry companies. The lab has established collaborations with federal research agencies (USGS, NOAA, NASA) and industry companies (e.g., startups).
