Dr. Na Du in the Department of Informatics and Networked Systems, School of Computing and Information, at the University of Pittsburgh is looking for highly motivated individuals to pursue doctoral degrees in Information Science with a specialization in Human Factors/Human-computer Interaction/Intelligent Systems. The fully funded assistantships cover tuition, health insurance, and a competitive stipend. Anticipated start dates include Spring 2022, Fall 2022.
Requirements:
; A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Psychology, Design, Math, or related areas.
; A minimum TOEFL score of 80 and a minimum GPA of 3.3 (on a 4-point scale) are required.
Preferred qualifications:
Candidates with ANY of the following qualifications would be particularly encouraged to apply.
; Research experience in human factors, human-computer interaction, or intelligent systems.
; Knowledge or interest in using applied data science and machine learning for human behavior modeling
; Skills in programming (e.g., Python, Java, C#, MATLAB, or R) or experience in developing AR/VR/simulator applications

Na Du is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics and Networked Systems, School of Computing and Information, at the University of Pittsburgh (starting Fall 2021). She received her Ph.D. in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan. Her research aims to improve human performance, safety, and well-being by applying human factors and data analytics to the analysis, design, and evaluation of technologies.
