是否模板回复求鉴定。。DDL要到了

今天收到了以为robotics and machine learning方向 CS的AP的回复，由于我本人背景是ME的，能收到CS Prof的回复也很诧异。。这位教授的方向我非常喜欢，之前也做过一个相关的project。现在问题是DDL马上就要到了，还有没有赶着申请的必要？
教授回复原话如下：
Hi XX,
I'll be taking 1 or 2 new students this year. Your CV/interests matched well what I'm looking for.
We will be going over applications in the next couple of months.
