题目:Professors should prohibit the use of devices that connect to the internet in class.

The past few years have witnessed the rapid development of technology, especially in the field of electronic devices. As a result, it's quite common for students to be equipped with devices that can connect to the Internet, such as laptops, mobile phones and computers. However, the use of devices connected to the Internet in class can cause negative effects like undermining academic performance and interrupting professors. Thus, personally speaking, prohibiting the use of devices that can connect to the Internet in class makes sense.

First of all, unrestricted use of devices connected to the Internet in class may decrease students' academic performance. To illustrate, with the development of technology, numerous interesting and intriguing applications come out. Students can easily download electronic games on those devices and usually cannot resist the temptation of games. As a result, they are likely to become fully indulged in games, with their attention distracted away from the class, not absorbing any knowledge from the professors. For example, when I was in a math class in middle school, the professor asked the boy sitting behind me a problem, and he couldn't answer it although the problem was quite easy as long as you paid attention to the teacher. This was because he wasn't listening to the professor at all and he was too concentrated on the game he was playing on his phones.

Additionally, the use of devices that can connect to the Internect in class interrupts the professors' teaching as well. A well-trained professor always care for his students, including whether they follow his pace of teaching and providing immediate feedbacks for students. In order to ensure that all the students have a comprehensive understanding of what he has taught, professors will warn students whose attention are not paid to the class from time to time. Under such circumstance, the pace of teaching is disturbed and thus the professor can't finish his original schedule. Also, frequent notifications from electronic devices can also be distracting and will upset the professor.

Admittedly, with the unrestricted access to electronic devices in class, students can acquire more information online immediately, from browsing the relevant websites to communicating ideas and thoughts with people on social platforms. However, in real life, students tend to play games or chat with others over irrelevant topics if they are allowed to use electronic devices in class.

In conclusion, considering the reasons stated above, it's more beneficial for students and professors respectively to have prohibited use of devices connected to the Internet in class.
