Opportunity for Graduate Assistantship in Power Electronics at University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Graduate assistantship is available for Ph.D. students in Dr. Tiefu Zhao's research group at University of North Carolina (UNC) at Charlotte in Fall 2022. Highly qualified and motivated students who are interested in power electronics, renewable energies, microgrid, applications of wide bandgap devices, and artificial intelligence in power electronics are encouraged to apply. Dr. Tiefu Zhao is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNC Charlotte. He received his B.S. and M.S degrees from Tsinghua University, China and Ph.D. degree from North Carolina State University, USA. His doctoral research topic of Solid State Transformers (SST) was named world's top 10 emerging technologies by MIT technology review 2011. He is the recipient of the prestigious 2015 IAS Andrew W. Smith Outstanding Young Member Award for his outstanding achievement and contribution to the profession. Dr. Zhao's research interests include grid edge power electronics, solid state circuit protection, wireless power transfer and wide bandgap device applications.
