Thank you for following up and here is the feedback that we received from our immigration team. The best case scenario as far as a timeline is approximately 4-6 months based on the appointment availability at the consulates in China. Worst case, the timeline could take 6-8+ months depending on whether an RFE is received, timing for appointment, and any Covid restrictions.
Timeline:
2-3 weeks for filing H-1B transfer
Up to 15 days for USCIS to take action on the H-1B transfer (approval or RFE; if RFE is issued, we have up to 60 days to respond and then USCIS has up to 60 days to make a decision based on our response)
Visa stamping appointment after approval of H-1B;
This is dependent on the consulate and availability
Approximately 2-3 months to schedule an appointment
Waiting period for passport to be returned with visa stamp (up to 6 weeks)
Travel time to US and onboarding
These timelines would present a challenge because we would need to have a manager at a company that is able and willing to wait this long for a candidate to start. If you know of any way possible to shorten this timeline or if you have any updates then please let me know.
