Dr. Lou’s research focuses on improving the efficiency, privacy, and security of deep learning on both computer vision and natural language processing tasks by designing novel algorithms, models, and systems.
Deep Learning: Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Multi-modal model, On-device ML, Model Compression, Transformer, Hardware Acceleration.
Security & Privacy: Privacy-preserving Machine Learning, Fully Homomorphic Encryption, Multi-Party Computation, Differential Privacy, Federated Learning, Trusted Execution Environment, Backdoor Attack, and Defense.
● Systems & Computer architecture: Hardware-software co-design, Efficient and Secure Systems, GPU/FPGA acceleration.
Dr. Lou’s research outcomes are published in top-tier conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ICLR, EMNLP, IJCAI, PACT, DAC, DATE, ICCAD, etc.
Dr. Qian Lou’s Biography:
Dr. Qian Lou is an incoming tenure-track assistant professor in the computer science department at the University of Central Florida (UCF) since 2022 Fall. Before that, He was a senior research scientist at the Samsung Research AI center (Mountain View, CA) and attained Q4 best paper award. He obtained M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Indiana University and received Luddy outstanding research award. Dr. Qian Lou has a strong passion for proposing novel techniques to solve real-world problems, and his working experiences in industry and academia can help him achieve this goal and mentor students. Dr. Qian Lou also serves as an organizer, committee member, and reviewer in the top-tier conferences, like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ECCV, AAAI, FHE.
