MS Stat 3rd ad-Nebraska Lincoln

第一次发帖，小激动~一直都是在潜水，表示这种背景都不太好意思发出来= =但是自强不息的我决定要拿出来鼓励后来人，就算转专业咱们也要挺直腰板，自己踏实地走自己的路就好了！
这是第三个录取了。还不确定会不会去这里，手上拿着Missouri 和 Clemson的录取也在比较中。前面两个再独立报吧= =另外还有8个pending~
Nebraska-Lincoln算是保底校吧~看了官方的handbook，总结了几点：
1.地理位置相较繁华大都市，当然是比较村的了。但是另一角度来说，是优势，节奏悠闲，人民友好。
“We are located in Lincoln, Nebraska, the state capitol with a metropolitan area population of 260,000. Lincoln is nationally known for an affordable, high standard of living, good schools, many cultural activities, and its friendly citizens. One can drive from Lincoln to most portions of Omaha, Nebraska, with a metropolitan area population is 800,000, within one hour.”
有看到前辈说驾车去芝加哥的，一路风景貌似倍儿爽的节奏，乡村风格~
2.statistics department是由Biometry department和former Department of Mathematics and Statistics新建成（July, 1, 2003）的，强项是biometry，Survey Statistics，statistics in sports。当然他们会说“not limiting； As we grow, we expect to expand our range of opportunities to reflect the world’s changing needs.”
3.教师实力比较一般，不详。倒是课程设置还是比较注重统计理论与统计应用的，要求学生必须有Familiarity with a discipline outside statistics，提供的课程涵盖计算机，经济，心理，生物等。通过“This can be satisfied in a variety of ways, such as previous major, M.S. minor, course work or experience during M.S. program, etc. Again, it is important that your advisor is aware of and approves all classes you take.” 这句话的语气，或许还能有除这些已有课程之外的其他修读可能性~
4.指引强调consulting经历是required的，并多次提到实习。但是具体的实习单位等信息不详。对于读完master想就业（或是期间想实习）的我来说，担心机会不够多。
“Interested students are encouraged to pursue summer internships between the first and second year. Students should contact faculty regarding internship possibilities and use the American Statistical Association website (1point3acres.com) and other websites to locate internships. Possible internships may also be listed on the bulletin boards outside of the main Statistics office in Hardin Hall.”

顺便补充一句，我修了一些数学课程：高等数学1,2（数学分析1,2）；线性代数（高等代数）；概率论与数理统计；统计学原理；时间序列分析；计量经济学；动态优化；随机过程~大多数课程都是A，有一门悲剧C，一门A+。
