正文:

Thereis a growing awareness of both the positive and negative influences that collegesor universities offering more courses on future working brings to students. Inmy opinion, I argue that there should not be more courses provided for them to getprepared for the future before entering the workplace.

Morecourses on career development means that the focus of the majority studentsturns from the basic knowledge of one’s major to the future job. If more coursesin terms of career were offered, students would pay less attention to further acquirementof fundamental knowledge, which is of great significance to students. Forexample, if massive lectures relating to Microsoft Software EngineeringCertification are available, students might pick them as an easier access to anoccupation in Microsoft Company after graduation. In such case, more time mightbe occupied by these courses whereas less on theoretical subjects. Naturally, this would lead to negative influences on consolidating the foundation of majorknowledge. In fact, what companies need are not only practical skills, but alsothe accumulation of one's professional knowledge, which is essential for thefuture development of each individual.

Besides,a series of career-related courses emphasize on enhancing students’ practicalskills. As a result, numerous students who have the talent in doing theoreticalresearch have been lost. Considerable though the advantages that moreproficient practical skills would result in more opportunities in finding a betterjob are, they might not contribute as much as those elites who have grasped thecore and seminal ideas do. It is those excellent students who have vital theoreticalbasis that promote the development of the whole society. For instance, Apple Companyand its CEO Steve Jobs might not obtain such notable achievements without thesevital and innovative theories of the interaction between human beings andcellphones.

Sincethere are accessible ways of collecting different kinds of informationregarding jobs, is it still necessary to explicitly provide more courses onfuture working? Undoubtedly, students can totally prepare themselves for futurejobs with the capability of collecting career information. Choices should be madeby students themselves since they are supposed to be ready for entering thesociety.

In conclusion, thoughadmitted by the public that school presents more courses on career developmentwould be of much convenience to students, and would facilitate their transitionfrom full-time students to full-time employees, it might be better for them to havethe freedom of making choices. Therefore, from my personal point of view, thereis no need for colleges or universities to offer more courses on careerdevelopment because a more liberal environment would be more essential tostudents.
